The Eliza Street Pollinator Corridor
The Eliza Street Corridor is the first major project of the Algiers Point Pollinators. Our goal is to create a continuous native pollinator habitat down 10 blocks of Eliza Street through the Algiers Point Neighborhood. We have committed to planting over 100 native plants, 10 native trees and installing 10 rain barrels down Eliza St.
Spring & Summer will be spent prepping, learning & connecting. In Fall of 2024, through a series of community work days, we’ll get to planting.
Eliza St. neighbors are invested in this project and its goals, as one resident wrote, “We do all we can to support pollinators! It's lovely to see the butterflies & bees and we benefit from their work in our vegetable garden. I’d love our block to be a welcoming place for them.”
